A Visit to Eagle Street Pier

Yeap, it's about time to write a little I suppose! I have been going out quite a bit so haven't found much time to write... I took the opportunity to do a little typical touristy stuff during this school break - after my internship of coz!

Brisbane has several flea markets, and amongst them is the Eagle Street Pier Flea Market. I have been to the one at Southbank and Fortitude Valley (aka Chinatown) and they each have their distinctive style and flavour. So I paid a visit last Sunday with Madeline (inset) and Hanwei...

Hmmm btw did I put on weight ah?!

Eagle Street Pier markets, as its name suggests, is located next to the river pier. This means I indulged in one of my favourite activities - slack & daydream at a cafe facing the waters.

Shopping ain't that fantastic.. mainly becoz it's rather pricey. Aussie dollar shot up, so every dollar matters more than it usually does.
I came across this T-shirt that I thought is darn cool!


I did buy something though for little jerald so that mb and jh can hang at the baby's cot! No photos so that it will come as a surprise surprise...

A Grand Finale? (Finale)

Yep, my first internship journey is nearing its end now.
The clock is ticking and I am due to bid farewell in a couple of minutes.
The day was like any other... only difference was the debut of my very short and sweet story.

Once bitten, Twice Broken, Thrice Still Not Shy

Time to rethink the saying: Once bitten, Twice shy
People never learn...

Well, is it neccessarily an evil to never learn? After all, repeated committments simply mean the formation of habits, and even better, it really displays the virtue of perserverance and congruency. :P

I never learn.
I broke my own heart by burning a hole in my pocket through recent shopping expeditions (no longer trips)!
After tabling my expenses every single week, I walk out of the house chanting, "Okay, no more shopping and spending for the next week! I can do it!"
Shit happens! I am broke for the upmteenth time.
I never learn.

My friend never learns.
I have a friend who have had her heart broken twice by classic heartless beings who cared about their own lives all the times.
Now, she is still looking for trouble the third time round.
Who knows - she may get lucky this round?!
But till then, my friend never learns.

So whoever said Once bitten, Twice shy ??!!

A Grand Finale? (Part One)

Yay! I am finally doing good with my internship and have landed an opportunity to write a little story about Nickelodeon Australia's search for an animation guru...

I was supposed to visit the Australian Zoo where the famed Bindi Irwin was to take the crew around BUT they couldn't get me access for that. *sigh*
Darn! No free visit!

The Art of Pretence - Busy busy busy

Moshi Daily resumes print till further notice

Here I am on Day Two of my internship.
Just 2 hours into Day Two and my eyelids are drooping worse than ever...
How do I keep up this act of enthusiasm and interest when I practically have nothing much to do?

Well the only useful thing I did yesterday was help put together a Nicole Kidman photo gallery and write captions.
By the way, after scooting through scores of Nicole's photos, I have to admit she is gorgeous and truly deserving of her stardom... she made the impossibility of carrying off different hairstyles and fashion possible!

Now back to my internship, some other useful things I have done:
1) Visited the staff canteen at least 5 times over the past two days and counting...
2) Bothered the entertainment person at least 5 times over the past two days for things to do...
3) Trying to look busy, enthusiastic and alive throughout the day by looking at the PC monitor and typing away...
4) Visited the ladies at least 5 times to splatter my face with water to keep awake...
5) Counting down to end of the work day... incessantly...
6) Finally... reviving my blog! Yay!

So tell me... are all internship experiences headed this way?!

moshi whenever-i-feel-like-writing

A friend gave me feedback... that I ought to change the name of my blog.
Okay I get the hint! But it's really quite tough to blog religiously every single day!

Reasons (not excuses!) for MIA for nearly 3 weeks now:
1) Onslaught of assignment deadlines
2) Shopping - sale, sale, sale!
3) Frozen fingers - weather has been awfully cold, I couldn't expose my fingers to the cold-feeling keyboard of my laptop
4) Sleeping comes first - I wrap myself up like an ewok to sleep whenever I get a chance to (3 layers top and bottom with scarf wrapped around neck, and then throw another scarf round your head to cover ears and mouth leaving only eyes exposed)
5) Snooze mode - my mind had been snoozing for the longest time after my last assignment handed in on 8 June
6) Hooked onto kimchi drama - Eyes stayed peeled on Korean drama
7) Nothing to write

If only I can name my blog "moshi whenever-i-feel-like-writing"...
